According to the recent news reports, Facebook and Instagram have been blocked in Vietnam. The government in Vietnam imposed this ban on social media after the public protests over an environmental disaster attributed to toxic discharges from a steel complex built by Taiwan’s Formosa Plastics.
People had been using social media to share their anger by sharing photos from protest rallies, and to organize these protest rallies which could be the reason that Vietnam government imposed a ban on social media.
